World Famous Harlem Wizards Face The Caldwell-West Caldwell Superstars to Raise Funds for the Schools
Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation Hosts Third Harlem Wizards Basketball Game at James Caldwell High School, March 13, 2pm.
World Famous Harlem Wizards professional basketball team is facing off against the Caldwell-West Caldwell Superstar team of principals, teachers and staff, for a third year in a row, on Sunday, March 13, 2pm, at the James Caldwell High School gym. The fundraiser is being hosted by the Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation and proceeds directly benefit the CWC students. Tickets are on sale now, but almost sold out. On March 13, the Wizard players will take center court at JCHS to entertain audiences, including an exciting half-time show. Wizard players will also provide free autographs following the game. Plus, this year, the first 75 kids who purchase a Harlem Wizard jersey when ordering their tickets, will become WIZ kids and warm-up with the Wizards prior to the game, make a grand entrance with the team, and receive a personal introduction by the MC and take group photos with both teams. Refreshments, food and souvenirs will be available for sale.
Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation member and event organizer, Lila Kurzum, is thrilled with the participation from the school community. The Superstars team includes: Wilson principal, Scott” Showtime” Keena, GCMS teacher, Trevor “T-Mac” McLaughlin, Washington School teacher, Peter “The Greek” Protogiannis, Lincoln/Washington Schools gym teacher, Sheila “Zigzagging Zeman,” Lincoln School teacher, Jeff “I’m not Scott” Stiefbold, Lincoln School teacher, Gennifer “Otinsky the Obliterator,” GCMS teacher, Ryu “Coach” Saito, JCHS teacher, Ryan “Mr. Smith,” JCHS teacher, Frank “Flincoln” Lincoln, Jefferson School teacher, Kevin “The Highlighter” Paul, Washington School custodian, Dominick “Da King” Barone, and Lincoln/Washington Schools teacher, Martin “El Fuego” Rodriguez. The year will feature a new team captain, GCMS math teacher, Amanda “Little Dog” Keenan. JCHS students, Emily Morvey, will sing the National Anthem and Mollie DeFilippo, will perform a song from this year’s high school musical, Seussical.
