$2.1M Chatham Township Solar Project Heads Toward Final Vote
The proposal would install solar energy systems at two township facilities and authorize $2 million in bonds.
CHATHAM, NJ — A $2.1 million solar project is heading toward a final vote in Chatham Township.
The Township Committee introduced and passed Ordinance 2026-11 on first reading Sept. 22.
The proposal would authorize the installation of solar energy systems at the Municipal Building and Department of Public Works facility.

The ordinance appropriates $2.1 million for the project and authorizes $2 million in bonds or notes. No grant funding is appropriated.
The township's summary also lists $150,000 in Section 20 costs and gives the improvements a useful life of 15 years.

The public hearing and consideration for final passage are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 58 Meyersville Road.
Copies of the full ordinance will be available at no cost from the Township Clerk's Office during regular business hours during the week leading up to the meeting, according to the notice.
