Chatham Teens at Oak Knoll School Recognized as AP Scholars

Nearly 50 current seniors and members of the Class of 2015 were recognized for impressive AP test scores.

SUMMIT, NJ, October 20, 2015 – Sixteen seniors at Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child were recently named AP Scholars, while several members of the Class of 2015 earned National AP Scholar, AP Scholar with Honor and AP Scholar with Distinction awards, the College Board announced.

AP Scholar awards are given to students who earned scores of 3 or higher in three or more AP exams.

Current seniors earning the award includes Gayatri Bajaj, of Morris Plains; Margaret Burd, of Morristown; Brianna Gage, of Chatham; Elizabeth Guckian, of Chatham; Tara J. Halter, of Springfield; Christen Hillenbrand, of Summit; Bridget Hoke, of Flanders; Grace Jagoe, of Chatham; Emily McCarthy, of Summit; Rachael Molina, of Westfield; Margaret Mumma, of Summit; Mary Noelke, of Chatham; Audrey Picut, of Warren; Valerie Ricciardi, of New Vernon; Carmen Ruiz, of Wharton; and Safia Speer, of Mountain Lakes.

“Many months of dedication to rigorous study are the basis for these recognitions,” said Kathleen Skiff, director of college counseling. “Our students and their teachers teamed together to acquire the knowledge needed to achieve these impressive results.”

Several members of the Class of 2015 were also named AP Scholars, including Nicole Baiocco, of New Vernon; Joanna Briand, of Bernardsville; Mary Mallaney, of Summit; Maya Nann, of Califon; Alexandra Pucillo, of Essex Fells; Courtney Schroeder, of Ridgewood; Sarah Stiesi, of West Orange; and Danielle Williams, of Madison.

In addition, three seniors from last year were also recognized as AP Scholars with Honor, after receiving an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of those exams.

AP Scholar with Honor awards recipients include Shaneena Alabado, of Orange; Emma D’Arpino, of Upper Saddle River; and Alexandra Monetti, of Morristown.

Twenty members of the Class of 2015 were also named AP Scholars with Distinction by receiving an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of those exams.

Students earning the distinction award include Colleen Conway, of Franklin Lakes; Jessica Crandall, of Chatham; Melissa Dunn, of Summit; Natalie Hench, of Ridgewood; Kathryn Kelly, of Madison; Gabriella Leuthner, of Summit; Madeline Lyons, of Franklin Lakes; Margaret Magovern, of Summit; Lindsay Martin, of Summit; Kelsey McGee, of Basking Ridge; Kathryn McHugh, of Chatham; Julia McMinn, of Summit; Teagan Monaco, of Summit; Keelin O’Loughlin, of Chatham; Elizabeth Ocker, of Parsippany; Virginia O’Connor, of Ridgewood; Jacqueline Palmeri, of Franklin Lakes; Kaitlin Schroeder, of Summit; Sabrina Solow, of Madison; and Jennifer Spottz, of Warren.

Virginia and Sabrina were both named National AP Scholars, having received an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more exams.
