5 Bulletproof Vests Donated To Chatham Borough Police

Each vest is worth $500.

CHATHAM BOROUGH, NJ — Five bulletproof vests were donated to the Chatham Borough Police Department at Monday's council meeting, thanks to the Guardian Foundation.

Each vest, which protects police officers from bullets, is valued at $500. The Guardian Foundation helped raise funds by local residents and businesses. It was founded by Carlos Betancourth, a lieutenant with the Bayonne Police Department. Chatham resident Salil Sheth is the vice president.
