A Taste of Maine in Chatham
One vendor at the Chatham Borough Farmers Market comes all the way from Maine to sell homemade jam and jelly.
Lost Loon Farms is a family run jam and jelly business in northern Maine. So what are they doing at the Chatham Borough Farmers Market?
“I grew up in New Jersey and we have a lot of our products down here in Morristown bakeries,” Tucker Hoffman, co-owner of Lost Loon Farms, said.
Everything from Lost Loon Farms is homemade and all natural. “Most all the berries are grown on our farm in Maine,” Hoffman said. “The jams are all homemade. My mom makes them [using] all natural ingredients packed in sugar [and] natural fresh picked berries.”

Hoffman’s favorite jam, and Lost Loon Farms’ bestseller, is Wild Maine Blueberry, but there is a flavor for everyone. Lost Loon Farms sells unique flavors, such as Apricot, Peach and Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, in addition to selling more traditional jam flavors, like Strawberry, Orange Marmalade and Blackberry.
Although Lost Loon Farms sells some seasonal jams, most of the company’s products are available all year round. “We bring in a lot of products at the end of fall with apple butter and pumpkin butters, but we freeze the berries so we can carry them all year long,” Hoffman said.
