Alcorn Finishes Seventh at State Golf Meet of Champions
The Chatham junior shot a 78 in the competition.

RUMSON — Chatham junior Ben Alcorn finished tied for seventh place out of 133 golfers today at the 76th annual NJSIAA/MGA annual Meet of Champions Tournament at the par-71, 6,745-yard Rumson Country Club.
Alcorn, who won the individual championship on the second playoff hole at the NJSIAA North I and II Group 2 tournament at Rockleigh Golf Course on May 17, shot a seven-over 78 for the tournament.
Alcorn shot a four-over 41 on the front nine and a three-over 37 on the back nine with a birdie on the par-four, 350-yard 10th hole.

"I didn't strike the ball too well today," Alcorn said. "It was a pretty tough course. Very lengthy and tough to score out there—78 is not a terrible number, but I knew it wasn't going to get the job done today."
