Morris Co. Begins Stormwater Infrastructure Mapping Along County Roads

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Morris County will begin mapping stormwater infrastructure along county roadways in Mount Olive Township starting Friday, May 22.

The project is being conducted by contractor Aqualis to meet the requirements of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System Highway Agency Permit. Field crews will locate and collect GPS data for county-owned stormwater assets, including storm drains, catch basins and outfall pipes.

A two-person field team operating one marked company vehicle will conduct data collection between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. The work is expected to take three to five days to complete. Additional traffic control measures will be implemented as needed.

Motorists should expect a slow-moving vehicle and personnel working on foot along county roads and are urged to use caution when passing the crew.
