CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham Borough's Environmental Commission is asking residents to take a brief survey on clean energy adoption before the deadline — part of a broader effort to shape the township's energy future.
The survey is one of the action items stemming from a Community Energy Plan the Environmental Commission wrote and was awarded a grant from the NJ Board of Public Utilities to prepare. The commission secured the BPU grant last year, and the plan is designed to identify and prioritize clean energy actions that make the most sense for Chatham's community.
Resident input is central to that process. The survey poses a few questions about clean energy adoption and asks residents to weigh in on which actions should be prioritized — giving the community a direct role in shaping the borough's energy direction for years to come.
The Environmental Commission acknowledged the survey interface is "a bit clunky," particularly with the way text wraps, but emphasized that responses are valuable and the process takes only about five minutes. Only Borough residents are asked to participate. The deadline to complete the survey is approaching, and the commission is encouraging as many residents as possible to respond before it closes.
