The production is presented in partnership with the Chatham Borough Department of Community Services as part of the borough's semiquincentennial celebration.

"This powerful and thought-provoking production encourages meaningful conversations about democracy, civic engagement, and the enduring impact of the Constitution on everyday lives," said Leslie Williams, Director of Community Services. "It reflects our commitment to offering cultural experiences that both inspire and connect our community during this historic milestone."

The play follows a 15-year-old Heidi who earned her college tuition winning Constitutional debate competitions across the country. Schreck resurrects her teenage self to trace the relationship between four generations of women and the founding document that shaped their lives.

The play won the Obie Award for Best New American Play and the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best American Play, was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Pioneer Productions Artistic Director Dan Vissers directs the production, which features actor Miriam Salerno in the lead role. Pioneer's January Morristown production was called a "tour de force," with Salerno giving the "performance of her life," according to MorristownGreen.com. The cast also includes Ben Weisman as the Legionnaire and Ashlee Vissers as the Debater.

Pioneer Productions is a Chatham-based nonprofit theatre company founded in 2003 with a mission to produce shows relevant to contemporary audiences.
