Stanley Center To Showcase Award-Winning Play 'What the Constitution Means To Me'

CHATHAM, NJ — An award-winning play is coming to Chatham as part of the borough's America 250 celebration.

"What the Constitution Means to Me" will be performed at the Stanley Center on Saturday, July 11, and 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 12.

Audience members attending the July 12 performance are invited to stay for a post-show discussion with the League of Women Voters of the Morris Area.

Pioneer Productions' Artistic Director, Dan Vissers, directs Heidi Schreck’s play that breathes new life into our Constitution and imagines how it will shape the next generation of Americans.

"Fifteen-year-old Heidi earned her college tuition by winning Constitutional debate competitions across the United States. In this hilarious, hopeful, and achingly human play, she resurrects her teenage self in order to trace the profound relationship between four generations of women and the founding document that shaped their lives," according to the play overview.

Parking is available on Fairmount Avenue and Oliver Street. Additional parking can be found in the lot at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, located a block west of The Stanley Center between Oliver and Chatham Streets. Parking is also available at Washington Avenue School, Chatham Borough Hall, as well as the Chatham Train Station.
