Peapack-Gladstone Bank Collects Cell Phones for Soldiers

With summer a thing of the past and fall now upon us, the calendar tells us it is time to begin thinking about the festivities that go hand in hand with this time of year.  Seasonal celebrations can be joyous, but have you ever stopped to think about those men and women who serve our country and cannot be with their families and friends around the holidays?

On November 11 we will celebrate Veterans Day, a time to honor and thank all who served in the United States Armed Forces and sacrificed so much for the comforts we enjoy.  To support those soldiers who protect our freedoms, Peapack-Gladstone Bank will participate in the program, Cell Phones for Soldiers.  Beginning Monday, October 10, and ending Saturday, November 12, a collection box will be displayed in the lobby of each of Peapack-Gladstone Bank’s branches to collect unused cell phones, iPhones, iPods and MP3 Players.  Donated items will be shipped to the organization, Cell Phones for Soldiers, who in turn will have the donated items reconditioned and resold.  Phones that cannot be used because they are either very old, damaged or beyond repair are melted down and recycled.   Profits generated are used to purchase calling cards for soldiers overseas.  Each donation equals one prepaid 60 minute calling card for U.S. soldiers abroad!

Peapack-Gladstone Bank, registered as an official sponsor of Cell Phones for Soldiers, is proud to make this effort to show its appreciation for the men and women who sacrifice day-to-day contact with their own families.  So collect all those retired devices sitting in your home and car and join the millions of Americans who have already answered the call to “Help Our Heroes Call Home.”
