Attempted Burglary In Chatham Borough
Police said someone attempted to break into a North Hillside Avenue residence.

CHATHAM, NJ - An alert homeowner thwarted an attempted burglary in Chatham Borough Thursday, according to the Chatham Borough Police Department.
According to officials, officers responded to a North Hillside Avenue home to investigate an attempted burglary. Police said the home was occupied at the time of the attempted burglary and the resident heard noises and when he looked outside the window he saw a man running from the home.
Police said a witness was able to provide them with a possible license plate number. According to officials the license plate was broadcast to surrounding towns but so far there have been no sightings and no arrests have been made.

The Borough’s Detective Bureau is continuing the investigation, officials said and the Chatham Borough Police noted that residents should lock their doors and windows and immediately report any suspicious activity.
