Police seek information on Hispanic male driving a white work van.

A Hispanic man driving a white van allegedly attempted to lure an 11-year-old boy Thursday on Fairmount Avenue, said.

Police said they were advised Thursday evening of a suspicious incident that occurred on Fairmount Avenue near Broadview Terrace early that day shortly after 3 p.m.

An 11-year-old boy reported he was approached by a Hispanic male driving a white work van, according to police.

The man asked the boy if he wanted a ride home, at which point the boy ran to his home, police said.

The driver is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s wearing a skull cap and having facial hair as if he had not shaved for a day or two, according to police.

The van is described as a white, older model with panels and dull and flaking paint along the body, police said.

Police request residents to be aware of any suspicious activities in and around schools, and any incidents involving the safety of area children.
