Chatham Borough Searching For A New Officer

Applications are now being accepted to join the ranks of Chatham Borough's finest.

CHATHAM, NJ - Those who dreamed of protecting and serving the citizens of Chatham Borough now have a chance to make it a reality as the Police Department is now accepting applications for a new officer.

According to officials, applicants must meet the requirements of NJSA 40A:14-122 and be PTC certified, or eligible for certification through the Alternate Route Program. Chatham Borough Police said they will not be accepting waivers for this position.

At time of appointment, applicants must have a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college or have completed 30 college credits from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory employment/military experience, officials said.

The Chatham Borough Police note:

  • Completed applications and a resume must be returned in person to the Records Bureau between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Submission deadline is 3 p.m. on Nov. 2.
  • No phone, fax or e-mails accepted.
  • Chatham is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Applications are available online or they can be obtained at the Records Bureau between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
