Chatham Man Drove Drunk, Resisted Arrest: Police

Ronald Lupi was also driving with a revoked license, police said.

CHATHAM, NJ - A 48-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after an altercation with authorities on Aug. 1, according to the Chatham Township Police Department.

According to authorities, shortly before 1:45 p.m. Patrolman Ronald Anderson conducted a motor vehicle stop in the auxiliary lot next to Shunpike Field. After speaking with the driver, Ronald Lupi, and conducting a subsequent investigation, Anderson placed Lupi under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, police said.

Lupi was processed at Police Headquarters and released to a family member pending a future Municipal Court Hearing. Lupi was charged with resisting arrest, driving while license suspended or revoked, driving while intoxicated and numerous other motor vehicle violations, police said.
