Chatham Named In Top 10 Safest Cities List

Out of the 474 cities included in their study, Chatham Township was ranked the sixth safest small city to live in by Value Penguin.

“The analysts at ValuePenguin took a comprehensive look at crime statistics at over 474 cities and towns in New Jersey to determine which are the safest and least safe relative to each other,” according totheir website.

The population count and types of crime were two main factors considered by t he Value Penguin team when they compiled the list.

According to the site, Chatham’s population of about 10,681 and crime score of 39 gave the township an average small city crime score of 486.
