The borough's <a href="https://chathamborough.org/government/news/841-september-11th-remembrance-ceremony-will-be-held-on-friday-september-11th-at-6-30pm" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">September 11 Remembrance Ceremony</a> will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Park on North Passaic Avenue, behind the Library of the Chathams, according to an announcement. The gathering offers neighbors a place to pause together on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks, when hijacked planes struck the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon outside Washington, while another crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people and continue to be marked through remembrance ceremonies across the country. The ceremony will take place rain or shine. Anyone attending should bring a chair, borough officials said. Residents should check its <a href="https://chathamborough.org/resident/calendar/9-11-memorial-ceremony-5" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">calendar</a> for any updates before leaving for Memorial Park.
