Chatham Police Will Hold "Operation Take Back New Jersey" Oct. 22

Chatham residents can legally dispose of their unwanted, unused, and expired prescription medicines at two different Chatham locations.

CHATHAM, NJ — Chatham Township Police Department is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) New Jersey Division in "Operation Take Back New Jersey" from 10 a.m. to 2 pm. Oct. 22. This is a day for Chatham residents to legally dispose of their unwanted, unused, and expired medicines at different convenient locations in Chatham.

The two locations will be at the Chatham Township Police Department at 401 Southern Boulevard, and the Hickory Square Shopping Center (CVS) at 641 Shunpike Road.

"Operation Take Back New Jersey" will help prevent prescription medicine from falling into the wrong hands or into the illicit market.

This will be a "no questions asked" process — residents will not be asked about the medication they're dropping off. Medications can be disposed of in their original containers into the collection box at each location. Liquid medications should be tightly secured in sealed containers. No syringes will be accepted.
