Chatham Student Scores 1,000th Basketball Point
Oak Knoll senior Emily Archer scored her 1,000th point over the weekend.

CHATHAM, NJ — Oak Knoll student and Chatham resident Emily Archer scored her 1,000th point in basketball this weekend.
She scored the 1,000th point during a 46-33 victory over Kent Place in the quarterfinals of the North Jersey, Non-Public A tournament. She is one of only seven students to reach that milestone at Oak Knoll.
“I'm absolutely thrilled for her,” head basketball coach and fellow 1,000 point scorer Kate Cummings said. “She put in the hard work and improved so much over the past four years. Emily is always the first and last in the gym, striving to get better.”

“She was never worried about scoring 1,000, but more putting our team in the best position to win. Emily Archer is the best teammate a coach could ask for and I'm just so happy all her hard work paid off and she was able to achieve this milestone,” Cummings said.
Archer has also been named one of NJ.com's Basketball Players of the Week, and was named Union County All Conference at the end of the 2016-17 season.
