CHATHAM, NJ — Zach Hoban, a Chatham teenager who goes to Seton Hall Prep, raised over $5,400 this past fall for children's cancer research.

Hoban is a junior placekicker for Seton Hall Prep. In the 2017 football season, each time he made a field goal, scored an extra point or a touchback he collected a pledge.

"My name is Zach Hoban and I am dedicating my season to help raise money for children's cancer research," Zach wrote on his fundraising page, which is affiliated with Alex's Lemonade Stand. "During the 2017 Seton Hall Prep football season I am asking fans, community members, and businesses to pledge money for each point I kick (Field Goal and Extra Point) and each touchback (kick into the end zone). All proceeds will go to research grants selected by the best medical advisory boards in the country. So many are affected by cancer, and we want to make a difference."
