Chatham Theatre Students Win Governor's Awards

CHATHAM, NJ - Several Chatham High School theatre students won Governor's Awards at the 2020 Governor’s Awards Competition, which took place last month at Montclair State University.

Awards went to:

• 21 Chump Street: 1st Place Musical Ensemble
• Gaby Vecciarelli: 1st place Contrasting Monologues
• Maddie Boland & Campbell Ragins: 1st place Communications/Media Arts
• Adi Roy & Lily Bauer:3rd place Dramatic Pairs
• Roma Welsh & Dash Green: 6th place Dramatic Pairs
• Andrew Palmieri & Dash Green: 5th place Comedic Pairs
• Adi Roy: Musical Solo Finalist
• Amanda Carroll & Shobhit Samar: Improv Pairs Finalists

"This year's winners and finalists worked arduously in preparation for competition day," Chatham Theatre teacher Laura Russo said. "They tackled challenging material with ease, and their performances were top notch. I am beyond proud of their talent and dedication to theatre."
