Chatham Township Cops Collar Reaccreditation
Department certificate valid through June 2021.

CHATHAM, NJ - The Chatham Township Police Department just finished celebrating the ascension of new Police Chief Thomas Miller now has another reason to pop the champagne - the department has been reaccredited through June of 2021.
Representatives from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police took public input about the Chatham Township Police Department and assessed all aspects of the Department's policies and procedures, management, operations and support services and saw fit to issue them a new certificate of accreditation.
According to Accreditation Program Manager Harry Delgado, the assessment team was composed of law enforcement practitioners from similar New Jersey law enforcement agencies. The assessors reviewed written materials, interviewed agency members, and visited offices and other places where compliance with the standards can be observed.

"Once the Commission's assessors complete their review of the agency, they will report back to the full Commission, which will then decide if the agency is to be granted continued accredited status," Delgado said.
The Police Department must comply with 105 standards to achieve accreditation status.

"The reaccreditation is reflective of the hard work and dedication of Chief Miller and his entire department. We could not be more pleased with this recognition, which is further evidence of what we already know —that we have the best Police Department in New Jersey if not the country," Chatham Township Mayor Curt Ritter said. "Their focus on community policing, communications, and public safety is a testament to their efforts to ensure that Chatham Township remains one of the safest towns in New Jersey."
