Chatham Township Police Mourn Retired Officer
Charles S. Extrom was with the department for 25 years, police said.

CHATHAM, NJ - The Chatham Police Department are mourning one of their own as Charles S. Extrom passed away Sunday, Aug. 4 at the age of 86.
"Thoughts and prayers from the Chatham Township Police to the Extrom family. We will miss seeing Charles and exchanging stories every time he would stop at Police Headquarters," the Chatham Township Police posted to social media. "Charles, thank you for your service and many memories."
According to his obituary, Extrom was a graduate of Roxbury Township High School and entered the United States Army during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Germany. Charles worked as a Police Officer for the Chatham Township Police Department for 25 years and retired in 1987. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
