Chatham Township Suspends Tree Permit Fee Post-Storm
Residents won't have to pay for a permit through Monday, July 15.
CHATHAM, NJ - The brief but powerful line of thunderstorms that moved through Chatham Saturday evening damaged tree, tore down power lines and left many in the dark for the balance of the weekend. But officials in Chatham Township have made cleanup a little easier by waving the fee for tree removal permits.
According to Administrator Bob Hoffmann, based on the extent of the storm related tree damage the decision was made for the fee for tree removal permits will be waived until Monday, July 15.
Hoffmann noted that permits will still need to be requested.
