Chatham Woman Drove Intoxicated, Crashed In School Zone: Police
Florham Park Police said the woman's two-year-old daughter was in the car at the time of the crash.

CHATHAM, NJ — A Chatham woman is accused of driving under the influence after she crashed into a tree in a school zone with her toddler in the car, Florham Park Police said.
Kathryn E. Hurley, 25, was driving in Florham Park when she allegedly ran off the road and crashed into a tree head-on, police said. The crash was near both Brooklake and Briarwood Elementary Schools.
While talking to Hurley and assessing injuries, officers said they saw signs of impairment. Hurley and her 2-year-old daughter were both taken to Morristown Medical Center for evaluation; Hurley's blood was drawn to check for impairment, police said.

After being discharged, Hurley was arrested. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, reckless driving, failure to properly use a car seat, failure to keep right, failure to possess a registration card, endangering the welfare of a child and assault by auto. Hurley was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility.
Her daughter remained in the hospital as a precaution, police said.
