CHATHAM, NJ — Don't let this news stop you from enjoying summer, but the first bell of the 2019-20 school year is less than two months away.

Here are some key dates for the upcoming school year:

• First day of school: Sept. 3
• Rosh Hashanah: Sept. 30
• Yom Kippur: Oct. 9
• Teacher Professional Development Day: Oct. 14
• Early dismissal, parent-teacher conferences: Nov. 6
• Teacher Convention: Nov. 7-8
• Thanksgiving break: Early dismissal Nov. 27, off Nov. 28-29
• Early Dismissal For Parent Teacher Conferences: Dec. 2-Dec. 6.
• Winter break: Dec. 23 to Jan. 1
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day, school closed: Jan. 20
• Staff professional development, early dismissal: Feb. 14
• President's Day, school closed: Feb. 17, Feb. 18
• Spring break: April 6-10
• Memorial Day, school closed: May 25
• Early dismissal: June 17
• Last day of school, early dismissal: June 18

Noting these dates are good way to prepare for going back to school. But don't forget the school supplies.
