New Jersey Youth Theatre (NJYT) will be presenting a Radio-style “A Christmas Carol” December 2, 3, and 4 at the Wharton Institute for Performing Arts. This is a straight play with music of the period. The cast includes ten actors/actresses (age appropriate) to play all major roles and six children to play the Crachit family. All actors wear gowns and dark suits, play 3 -5 different roles each, and ensemble for each other. A foley artist is onstage with the company to provide sound effects, as in the radio shows of years ago.

Rehearsals begin on Sunday, November 6. Please prepare a short monologue in a British accent and a bit of any holiday song. Please bring sheet music for your song, a headshot, and resume. Roles that remain open: Marley - must look 60s also plays Old Joe, Business Man, Gentleman Fezziwig - must look 40s-50s - also plays grocer businessman, debtor and Christmas Present - Must be tall with a strong, booming laugh and voice and also plays Philanthropist, undertaker, businessman.
