Cops: Man Made Bomb Threat Against Florist
The following information was obtained directly from the Chatham Borough Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
The responded to Watchung Avenue Friday morning after employees at Suburban Florist received a threat to blow up the building via text message, according to police.
A current employee at Suburban Florist received a text message from a former employee that stated he was on Commerce Street and the employees had five minutes to evacuate the building, police said.
Officers located the suspect, identified as David Tucker, 58, of Bloomfield, in the area as he was driving from the scene, according to police.

Ticker admitted sending the text message but stated it was a joke, police said.
Tucker was placed under arrest and charged with making terroristic threats, according to police.

Tucker was brought to headquarters, processed and released on his own recognizance, pending further court action, police said.
