Decaying Tree Causes Chatham Field Closure, Borough Says
Shade Tree Commission to review issue at Tuesday meeting.

So why was a portion of Lum Field suddenly closed?
According to Chatham Borough, a tree between the ECLC building and Chatham Train Station parking lot has shown evidence of an internal cavity and root decay on one side, causing concern from the town’s forester.
As a result the area near the tree was closed off and won’t be reopened until the Shade Tree Commission reviews the issue at its July 21 meeting.
