Drunk Driver Ran Red Light: Chatham Borough Police
Samantha Grindlinger was arrested after a motor vehicle stop, police said.
CHATHAM, NJ - A 38-year-old Mountainside woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a motor vehicle stop on June 27, according to the Chatham Borough Police Department.
According to authorities, at approximately 1:45 a.m.Officer Matt Belcastro arrested Samantha Grindlinger and charged her with driving while intoxicated. Belcastro observed Grindlinger fail to stop for a red light which led to a motor vehicle stop, police said.
While speaking with Grindlinger, Belcastro detected the odor of alcohol and had her perform a series of field balance tests, police said. Upon completion of the tests, and other observations, Grindlinger was taken into custody and transported to the Madison Police Department and administered a breath test, police said.

Grindlinger was then transported to the Chatham Borough Police Department for further processing. She was issued traffic tickets for driving while under the influence, reckless driving, failure to maintain traffic lane, failure to stop for a red light and having no current insurance card in her possession, police said.
Grindlinger was later released into the care of a friend pending a court appearance.
