DWI, Warrant Arrests In The Chathams

CHATHAM, NJ — Police in Chatham Township and Borough both recently made arrests in their towns. Read about those arrests, as written by police.

Chatham Township: October 7, 2017 10:16 p.m. Officer Kelly D’Ambola stopped a vehicle on Southern Boulevard for a traffic violation. After a roadside investigation, Octavia Boylan, 68 of Chatham was placed under arrest by Officer D’Ambola for driving while intoxicated. Ms. Boylan was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and later released to the custody of a friend. She was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, Impeding the Flow of Traffic and Careless Driving. Ms. Boylan’s vehicle was impounded in accordance with “John’s Law”.

Chatham Borough: October 15, 2017: Officer Michael Permison arrested Michael
Serillo, age 28, from Madison, New Jersey on an active traffic contempt of
court warrant issued by the Municipality of Garwood. Officer Permison
observed the vehicle which was operated by Mr. Serillo with no headlights
on at a time when they would be required and conducted a motor vehicle
stop. A customary driver’s license check discovered the warrant. Mr. Serillo
was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released
pending a court appearance.
