Early Dismissal, COVID Testing Canceled For Chatham Schools

CHATHAM, NJ — All Chatham schools will be dismissed early on Friday due to the forecast for icy conditions.

Lunch will not be served at school.

The dismissal times are as follows:

• Chatham High School: 12 p.m.
• Chatham Middle School: 12 p.m.
• Lafayette Avenue School: 12:45 p.m.
• SBS, WAS, and MAS: 12:35 p.m.
• AM Kindergarten: 8:35 a.m. – 10:35 a.m.
• PM Kindergarten: 10:35 a.m. – 12:35 p.m.
• AM Pre-School: 8:40 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
• PM Pre-School: 10:40 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
• Full-Day Pre-School: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

COVID testing scheduled for this afternoon at CMS from 3 to 4 p.m. is canceled.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Morris County from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday. Freezing rain is expected with total ice accumulations of a light glaze, according to the National Weather Forecast.

This will create very slippery sidewalks, roads, and especially bridges and overpasses are possible.
