Elect Mathiasen and Hay

Vote for a Safe and Healthy Chatham

As a longtime resident of Chatham Borough who cares about Chatham being a safe and healthy place to live and raise my children, I am looking forward to voting to re-elect Jocelyn Mathiasen and Kate Hay to Chatham Borough Council.

I serve on the Borough Board of Health, and as our Council liaison, Kate has brought energy and smart input to Board meetings. She makes sure that the communication channel between the Board of Health and the Borough Council is open and active, and she thinks holistically about the connections between our Department of Health and Borough committees focused on wellness and traffic safety.

I have had the pleasure of voting for Jocelyn several times now, and I feel lucky that she is willing to contribute her professional expertise in municipal government management in service to our community. She has long been a liaison to the Borough Environmental Commission, supporting its successful initiatives to end the use of pesticides on playing fields and reduce energy use in Borough buildings. Jocelyn and Kate are both working to create new open, green spaces in town where we can enjoy nature and the outdoors, building on the successes of the Garden Avenue Park improvements and the beautifully renovated Passaic River Trail.
