CHATHAM, NJ February 17, 2024 - A remarkable initiative that began as a Girl Scout Gold Award project is now blossoming into a full-fledged movement for change. Mothers Matter, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting moms facing challenges, traces its roots back to the passion and dedication of one young Girl Scout.
Nicole Mueller, now a college student, embarked on a mission to make a difference in the lives of mothers in need through her Gold Award project (see original story in the Chatham Patch here). What started as a volunteer recruitment effort has grown into a commitment to continuing the impactful work that began during her scouting days.
Mothers Matter was born from a simple yet powerful idea: recognizing the vital role that moms play in our communities and extending a helping hand when they need it most. Miss Mueller envisioned a platform that not only provides immediate support but also fosters a sense of community and empowerment for moms facing various challenges.

Scheduled for Saturday, February 24 from 9 am to 1 pm at 151 Center Ave. Chatham, New Jersey, the yard sale offers a diverse array of items – from napkin rings to small furniture, games, toys, art supplies, picture frames, knick-knacks, holiday decor, beautifully framed art, and more – all available for a donation.
"I believe that supporting moms in need is not just a project; it's a lifelong commitment to making our communities stronger and more compassionate," said Nicole Mueller.
