This year the Chatham Borough Fire Department will hold it's 57th Annual Fourth of July Celebration on Monday July 4.
This years parade Grand Marshal will be firefighter and Vietnam War veteran, John Clark. Clark will celebrate his 40th anniversary with the Chatham Borough Fire Department in August.
The day’s events will start at 9:15 a.m. with a flag raising at the firehouse performed by members of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 5351 in Whippany. Department inspection by Mayor Nelson Vaughan and Council members will follow the flag raising ceremony.

At 10:30 a.m., the parade begins from the intersection of Main Street and Hillside Avenue and proceeds to the grounds of Chatham Middle School on Main Street.
Activities continue later that night, when early arrivals to the Middle School field will be treated to a variety of music from today and yesterday by the musical group Magic Moments featuring Gina and Pepe who will perform from 7 to 9 p.m.

The day will conclude with a fireworks display provided by the World Champion Santore Brothers of Garden State Fireworks Company of Millington, NJ at dusk.
Rain date for fireworks only will be Tuesday, July 5, 2011.
