CHRIS SMITHER and TRACY GRAMMER

Drawing equally from the wells of blues and American roots music, accompanied by only his masterful guitar and the beat of his stomping foot, Chris Smither writes haunting songs that dive deeply into the mystery of life, the meaning of evil, and the depth and heights of human emotion. His Delta-drenched fingerpicking guitar style, learned at the feet of the masters after he left his native New Orleans in the 1960s, is unmistakable. And his world-weary been-there voice is a perfect vehicle for his lyrical and profound songwriting. Recently, Acoustic Guitar Magazine rated the world's best blues guitarists.  Keb Mo' was the winner, Eric Clapton second, with Chris Smither tied with Jorma Kaukonen for the silver medal. Chris is touring in support of his thirteenth album, Time Stands Still

Chris' special guest is Tracy Grammer.  The beloved duo of Tracy and her musical and life partner Dave Carter had reached the threshold of true folk stardom when Dave suddenly passed away in 2002.  Since then, Tracy has carried on the duo's musical legacy, performing the legendary songs of Dave Carter as well as developing her own songwriting style.  One of those songs, Crocodile Man, was recorded and popularized by Chris Smither.
