Free Bone Density Screening To Be Offered In Chatham

The event will take place at the Library of the Chathams.

CHATHAM, NJ — Atlantic Health and the Westfield Regional Health Department will offer a free bone density screening on September 17at the Library of the Chathams.

The screening will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will use an ultrasound measurement of heel or wrist bone density to assess the risk of fractures and current or future osteoporosis. Appointments will be scheduled in five-minute blocks.

The screening is open to residents age 35 and older from Chatham Borough, Fanwood, Garwood, Madison, Mountainside, New Providence, Roselle Park, Summit and Westfield.

The screening is not appropriate for individuals already diagnosed with osteoporosis.
