Burglary, Assault In Chatham Under Investigation

BREAKING: A Henry Drive burglary and assault is currently under investigation, police said.

CHATHAM, NJ — A Tuesday morning burglary and assault at a Henry Drive home is currently under investigation, Chatham Township police said.

A man forced his way in through the front door of a Henry Drive home when the homeowner was home, Chatham Township Police Chief Steven Hennelly said. The man is described as heavy-set and Hispanic, between 35 and 40 years old, with a shaved head.

Police believe the home was picked at random, and the burglar didn't anticipate anyone being home.

The burglar and the homeowner struggled before the burglar fled in a minivan, Hennelly said. The mnivan was a dark blue Chrysler Pacifica with no rear please.
