It’s Tea Time at the Farmers’ Market

If you love tea, the Tea Time vendor at the Farmers Market is the place to visit Saturday mornings. Specializing in loose-leaf teas, there is a flavor combination for everyone.

Owner Chandi Thenor opened the business five years ago and began selling at New Jersey Farmers Markets last year. “Last year [The Shops at Riverside] moved us from one location [to another location in the mall] during the summer. To keep us busy we started doing Farmers’ Markets, and now every summer we do Farmers’ Markets,” Thenor said.

At Saturday’s Farmers Market, Thenor had a large selection of loose-leaf teas. Including a passion fruit flavored green tea, a chamomile herbal tea and a blueberry infused white tea. There is also a large selection of Rooibos teas including a sweet tiramisu flavored blend.

Tea Time’s most acclaimed tea is its Island Breeze flavored green tea. This organic and fair-trade tea blends wild pineapple and papaya flavors and won at the World Tea Expo in the flavored tea category. “Island Breeze is our most popular green tea,” Thenor said, “[while] Coconut Crème is our most popular black tea.”

A first timer at the Chatham Borough Farmers Market, Tea Time is a full season vendor. Tea Time is also located at The Shops at Riverside in Hackensack and sells its teas and tea accessories online.
