Jewelry Stolen During Burglary at River Road Home

Jewelry and valuables were taken from a River Road home that was burglarized Monday afternoon, according to township police.

Police said a burglar entered the home through a rear door Monday between noon and 3 p.m. and ransacked the home's master bedroom and a second bedroom, taking the jewelry and valuables. The crime was reported by the River Road resident.

Police also arrested Dave Padilla, 45, of Vineland on a warrant Monday.

Padilla was being held by the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department after they discovered there had been a warrant issued for his arrest by township police. The warrant was connected to a 2001 case during which Padilla was charged with hindering apprehension after he provided false identification on a motor vehicle stop.

Police said they picked up Padilla and took him to the Morris County Jail in lieu of $1,200 bail.
