JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SUMMIT ANNOUNCES ITS SPRING COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP FORUM:
RAISING EMOTIONALLY HEALTHY TEENS IN THE 21ST CENTURY

The Junior League of Summit, 37 DeForest Ave., proudly announces that it, together with Caring Contact, will present a community-wide presentation: "Raising Emotionally Healthy Teens in the 21st Century: A Guide for Parents and Community Leaders."
The presentation will be held Thursday, April 28th from 7:30pm—9:00pm at the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad, 1000 Summit Avenue, Summit, New Jersey. The discussion is free; open to the public; and is especially recommended for parents of teens and pre-teens.
“Raising a teenager in this fast-paced world can feel both challenging and overwhelming at times. Our hope is that we can bring these issues out into the open with a meaningful discussion to help our participants better understand the issues and pressures facing teens today and gain strategies for promoting their teenager’s social-emotional wellbeing. Our experts will share strategies to help attendees gain a better understanding of adolescent development and learn how to keep lines of communication open; build on strengths; and navigate the challenging teen years,” noted Junior League member and Projects Committee Chair, Elena Nadgauda (Chatham).

The expert panel includes a mindfulness educator, licensed psychologist, and nationally certified trainer in mental health first aid. “We are supremely proud of the committee putting this program together. It will not only assist our own members’ families, but also has the ability to impact and benefit our community on a micro-level; one family at a time. It also keys into one of the League’s current foci, Children’s health and wellness,” observed League President, Christine Yearing.
Space is limited for this event. Please RSVP to jlsofficemanager@gmail.com to reserve your spot!
