Juniper Village at Chatham, an exceptional assisted living community located in Morris County, NJ has been bustling with activity as it celebrated National Assisted Living Week and Hispanic Heritage Month, and offered a range of events and programs that brought joy and connection to residents, associates, and the surrounding community.
The festivities for National Assisted Living Week began with a special Grandparents Day Magic Show featuring the talented Bobby J. Gallo. Throughout the week, residents enjoyed live performances by Peter Lieberman and “Elvis,” filling the community with music and laughter. In a moving tribute to honor the heroes of 9/11, Juniper hosted a concert of remembrance with violinist Tom Aalfs, bringing a heartfelt and reflective moment to the community.
The celebration also included a lively Spirit Day, where associates proudly showcased their heritage and culture. Juniper extends a special thank you to their partners in caring—Generations Home Healthcare, Powerback, Patient Care, Affirmed Home Care, Homeside Hospice, and Application Pros—for contributing incredible prizes for bingo and stunning raffle baskets during the celebration. Residents were treated to the comedic talents of Andrew Gunin, who filled the room with laughter as the week wrapped up on a high note with a community favorite, Mary Jo & Chris Sing-Along.

The celebration didn’t stop there—Juniper kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month with a festive bang. Residents and associates enjoyed lively music from the Mariachi Band Artistico and delectable empanadas, as well as a special thank-you to staff with authentic Mexican cuisine. It was a delicious and heartfelt way to honor the Hispanic culture and show appreciation for the dedicated associates who help make Juniper Village a vibrant place to live and work.
Taking advantage of the beautiful fall weather, Juniper hosted a variety of outdoor activities, including a weekend visit from Ashley and Jen from Drew University, who led a creative Picture Frame Making and Bird Seed Hanger craft session. The residents, part of the gardening club, also enjoyed sprucing up the courtyard with fall florals and tending to their flourishing herb garden.

Back by popular demand, Juniper Beats: Chatham’s drum circle brought rhythmic joy to the community once again, uniting residents in a celebration of music and togetherness. Emphasizing Juniper’s commitment to lifelong learning, residents also participated in two captivating lecture series: “The Creation of Rodgers & Hammerstein” and “Remembering the Catskills.” Attendees explored the career of composer Richard Rodgers and the rich history of vacationing in the Catskills, sparking meaningful conversations and cherished memories.
