Lady Cougars Crush Overmatched Dover

Chatham wins 57-20.

DOVER — Crisp shooting and solid defensive play led the Chatham girls' basketball team to a lopsided 57-20 road win against the Dover Tigers on Thursday at Dover High School.

The Lady Cougars set the precedent for the entire game in the first quarter when they went on an uncontested 11-0 run. Senior Caroline Murphy scored nearly half of the team's points during the stretch and provided a strong inside presence under the basket.

Murphy and the rest of the Chatham team continued a strong defense effort in the second quarter and contained a young but physical Dover team to only eight points. Senior Christin Campbell led the Cougars offensively with six of the team's points in the quarter.
