The Mask King of New Jersey and the Philips Fresh Air Mask
Vented masks protect the wearer, but not others. However, they are much more comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
The Mask King of New Jersey likes wearing vented masks, especially outdoors, and whenever he's going to have to wear a mask for an extended period of time. Vented masks only protect the wearer. They are not suitable for use in a medical setting. However, they do provide superior protection to the wearer than cloth or surgical masks offer if they use N95 or better filtration. Powered vented masks like the Fresh Air Mask from Philips offer great protection and comfort because stale air is pushed out of the mask via a battery-powered fan. They can be worn comfortably for long periods of time (up to five hours) even when engaged in strenuous activity.
