Newark Native Rear-Ends Chatham Resident's Car, is Charged With Careless Driving

A Newark resident was charged with careless driving after rear-ending a Chatham resident's car at the corner of Watchung Avenue and Lafayette Avenue, according to borough police.

Police said Candido Perez, of Newark, struck a car being driven by Chatham resident Laurie Wood on Watchung Avenue Tuesday at about 3 p.m. Wood, according to police, was waiting to turn on Watchung Avenue.

Perez was issued a summons for careless driving and no injuries were reported.
