This past Christmas Day, New Jersey hit a new record of 16,626 positive COVID tests in a single day. As the Omicron variant continues to wreak havoc across the country, we must start using better quality masks to minimize the spread. A number of New Jersey towns including Newark, Montclair, South Orange, and now Morristown have implemented indoor mask mandates and it could only be days before we see another state-wide indoor mask mandate like the ones currently in New York State, and California.

This past week, the Mask King of New Jersey sat down to share his latest tips on how to up your mask game in response to the Omicron variant.

N95, KN95, or KF94 masks are essential now to prevent infection from this highly transmissible airborne pathogen. These kinds of masks are no longer hard to find, so there's really no excuse for just using a cloth or surgical mask, which will not provide much protection at all to the wearer. The Mask King of New Jersey has been using the Philips Light Me Up Mask, which keeps the air inside the mask fresh and dry when indoors for long periods of time, such as at the cinema. It's made a big difference when going in and out of stores on cold days as well.

The Philips Light Me Up Mask is not sold in the U.S. However, if you would like to purchase the one, along with a pack of 3 replacement filters, just Venmo $95 to @WLOGLOBAL (including domestic shipping). Also, please indicate your preferred color (white, green, tan, or black).

Additionally, for those that want the ultimate in protection, there's the new AIR2 from Microclimate.

According to MicroClimate, the new AIR2 has many applications and includes the following innovations:

  • Impact-resistant visor to support industrial applications where eye protection is desired.
  • Replaceable visor chassis, creating model-up capabilities.
  • Improved airflow/positive pressured mask with tri speed fans as opposed to dual speed.

Factory fog-resistant coating minimizes fogging when moving from indoor to outdoor with high humidity/temperature differentiations.

The Patent Pending fan suspension system isolates the fans from the chassis, significantly reducing the mask's background fan noise, improving user hearing, comfort, and wearability.

  • Organic speech path directing communications toward the front filters, diminishing audio reverberation and external reception of communications.
  • An improved user interface with simple magnetic charging capabilities keeps you filtering even under long hours.

The Mask King of New Jersey is looking forward to trying out the new AIR2 over the next few weeks. Follow #MaskKingNJ on social media for more about masks, mask life, and the adventures of the Mask King of New Jersey:
