The men's and women's varsity cross country teams competed earlier this week against Morris Catholic High School and Parsippany High School.

Among the men's team, Charlie Baker came in ninth place with a time of 17:42 in the 5k run. Stephen Bangs and Joseph Kraemer also ran the 5k in under 18 minutes, with times of 17:49 and 17:58, respectively.

Head coach Patrick Barry said via e-mail of his team, "They did an outstanding job.  Many set personal records on the course and several took almost a full minute off of their times.

"The varsity clinched the NJAC Independence Division Championship with their wins over Morris Catholic and Pequannock.  They went 6-0 for the 2nd straight year. I'm extremely proud of them," Barry said.

Tara Hanley of the womens' varsity team took first place in the women's second race, completeing the 5k in 19:08, more than a full minute before the second place runner.
