Police Break Up Underage Gathering at Home; Find Marijuana, Beer Bottles

Borough police found discarded beer bottles, liquor bottles, a baggie of marijuana and a marijuana bong early Saturday morning in the backyard of a North Passaic Avenue home where several underage youths were located.

Police said they responded to the home at 12:50 a.m. Saturday after receiving complaints of excessive noise coming from the residence. They said they found the juveniles in the backyard along with the bottles and the marijuana.

Police said they found two more teenagers inside the home, including a 16-year old boy who lives at the house.

Parents of the juveniles were notified to pick up their children, police said. Police said two people over the age of 18 at the home who were drinking alcohol were picked up by a friend.

The borough's Detective Bureau is continuing the investigation, and charges are pending, according to police.
