Police: Jeep Stolen from Borough Driveway

said Friday they are investigating a car stolen from the driveway of a residence.

According to police, Patrolman Jeffrey Battiloro investigated a report of a stolen vehicle on Edgehill Avenue on Wednesday at 7:48 a.m.

Police said a resident reported his 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from his driveway sometime during the night.

The resident said he parked his car in his driveway at 8 p.m. the previous evening and when he came out the next morning it was gone, according to police.

Police said the Jeep was observed during the early morning hours in Kearny where a 2002 Audi stolen from Englewood Cliffs was recovered.

The drivers of the Audi abandoned it and fled the scene in the stolen Jeep from Chatham, police said.

As of Friday morning, police said the Jeep has not been recovered.

Police remind residents to keep their vehicles locked at all times and to report any suspicious activity.
