Update: PSE&G Investigates Possible Gas Leak

PSE&G crews investigated a possible gas leak at the Chatham Post Office after they received reports of a gas smell on Tuesday

Crews of PSE&G employees were unable to definitively say if there was a leak, but they investigated the area.

Their area of investigation spanned to Supper Restaurant, but was mainly concentrated around the Main Street entrance to the .

Employees were unable to give any comment as to what may have caused the smell.

Chatham Borough Police confirmed that someone reported the smell of gas, but said they had no further information as of 11:40 a.m.

The Chatham Borough Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene, but left by 11:30 a.m.
